ITALIAN REPORT ON DESERT BATTLE FIGHTING ON LIBYAN FRONTIER. R.A.F. ATTACKS IN AFRICA & ITALY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, December 15. An Italian communique says: “After the evacuation of Sidi Barrani on December 12 Italian and British troops met in bloody encounters throughout the day in the Fort,. Capuzzo, Solium and Bardia zones and attacks and coun-ter-attacks were carried out without respite. The enemy pressure has not slackened. Enemy planes bombed the bases at Bardia and Tripoli and also carried out incursions in some localities in Eritrea. “The British carried out air raids on Naples last night and dropped bombs in the port and a Molotov breadbasket on the city. Besides bomb damage to a warship another bomb sank a small sailing ship. The A.R.P. corps quickly extinguished fires. Eight civilians were wounded.”

CAPTURED GENERALS (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, December 15. It is. learned that the five Italian generals taken prisoner are: Corps Commander General Gallina and divisional commanders Generals Pescatore and Mezzari, also Generals Cerio and Mazzetti. The exact designations of the two last-named are not known.
