GOLD IN MASTERTON

RESIDENT FINDS HALF SOVEREIGN. Sovereigns or half-sovereigns are seldom seen these days and it came somewhat of a surprise to a Masterton resident the other day when he picked up a half-sovereign in Perry Street. He saw a coin lying in the street which he took to be a halfpenny and kicked it as he passed. It had a different ring about it and on picking it up he found it to be a halfsovereign.
