The Hororata Racing Club held a most successful annual race meeting yesterday, and some of the closest finishes ever seen on the course were witnessed. Conditions were good and there was a large attendance. The totalisator handled £8221 10s. compared with £9241 10s last year. An objection was lodged by the stipendiary steward, Mr J. S. Shaw, against second place being awarded to Indian Clipper in the Snowdon Trot on the ground of inconsistent running. The committee decided that while it approved of the action of the stipendiary steward in bringing the charge, there was not sufficient evidence to warrant action being taken.
