Mrs W. G. Scott, of Pahiatua, is visiting Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. K. Cooper, of Pownall Street, Masterton, are spending a holiday at Castlepoint. Mrs Ledger, of Feilding, is the guest of Mrs L. Cross, Church Street, Masterton. Miss J. Hoare, who has been the guest of Mrs VV. Hoar, Cambridge Terrace, Masterton, left today for Wellington en route to her home in Christchurch. Mrs. Ellen Leydon, whose death occurred recently in We’lington at the age of 90 years, was one of the city’s pioneers. Born in County Kerry, Ireland, she arrived at Wellington in the Salisbury on January 20, 1874, and settled in Thorndon, where she lived till her death. Her husband, Mr. Thomas Leydon, predeceased her 15 years ago.
