BOMB DEVITALISED
R.A.A.F. PARTY'S COURAGE. A sergeant and party of volunteers of the Royal Australian Air Force flying boat squadron serving with the Royal Air Force worked 12 hours in grave peril to devitalise a live bomb dropped, by a raider in the vicinity of their base. The squadron is giving sterling service in its anti-submarine, escort, and other duties. Operational reports show that on their long vigils over the seas, the flying boats had gone to the rescue of several ships menaced by Nazi bombers. They had beaten off attacks on their own aircraft and done splendid work in assisting the mercantile marine and rescuing survivors of sunken ships.
