WELLINGTON BURGLARY

PETROL COUPONS AND CASH STOLEN. ENOUGH FOR THOUSAND GALLONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Petrol coupons for 1000 gallons were stolen from the strongroom of Blackwells’ Motors, Ltd., during the weekend, and cash, amounting to £l7, from petrol.sales on Saturday afternoon, was also removed. The strongroom, from which the coupons and cash were stolen is generally used by the firm for books and records and was locked up in the usual way by an attendant after Saturday afternoon's sales. Later it was apparently reopened with a key and locked again, after the removal of its contents. The stolen petrol coupons were being held by the firm for subsequent transfer to the oil fuel authorities. They have no identification or cancellation marks, and are eligible for further petrol purchases during the remainder of December.
