WOOLLENS FOR TROOPS
UNSHRINKABLE CLOTHING ONI.Y No shrinkable woollen clothing will be worn by any member of the Australian fighting forces if a plan that has been formed by the Australian Wool Board is adopted by the Commonwealth Government. The board is arranging for details ol recent discoveries to be soul h’om Great Britain, and engineering, firms will bo asked to lender for the manufacture of the necessary plant. y Government will then be asl.ec a stipulate in all contracts that woollen poods for all fighting men should be unshrinkable. The Chairman ot the Board (Sir Dalziel Kelly) has announced that tests have shown that tlieic is no shrinkage in 25 washings of goods treated by the new process. This was equal to'a year's wear. The process was one of the most impoitant discoveries the wool industry has been able to adopt.
