Road Transport Alliance (Inc.) advises that the No. 2 Licensing Authority has increased the Road Transport Tariff Schedule. ~ Following is the Authority’s decision: — The increase of 33 1-3% granted as from January 1, 1940, is cancelled as from November 30, 1940, and the following increases are granted in lieu thereof: — (a) 5% on all classes of store sheep. (b) 5% on fertiliser and lime. (c) 7J% on all other classes of freight (including fat stock) (d) The hire of trucks is increased by 5%. The discount for backloading is to be 33 1-3% over the whole district, in lieu of the present 25%. The decision does not affect payment for work for the Public Works Department. The increase covers the whole of the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority’s district except the Poverty Bay area. The Authority’s decision is effective as from December 1, 1940.
