BRITISH PILOTS HARRY ITALIANS IN KASSALA & GALLABAT AREAS. ATTACKS BY RHODESIAN AIRMEN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 11.50 a.m.) RUGBY, December 6. A Cairo communique states: "There is no change in the situation in the Western Desert. Ip the Gallabat area, in the Sudan, our fighting patrols attacked and drove off an enemy mach-ine-gun post in a position east of Gallabat. The enemy sustained casualties, and left one dead and a quantity of arms and equipment in our hands. Oup patrols were also active in the Kassala sector, while there has been able patrol activity on the Kenya front.
.. The A . ir Ministl- y news service states: “In Italian East Africa, aircraft of a Rhodesian squadron attacked enemy motor transport concentrations north of Kassala. The enemy positions and motor transport were heavily machinegunned by the British aircraft. Many reconnaissances were also carried out over the whole operational area and valuable information was obtained. All our aircraft returned safely ”
