COSY THEATRE
“GIT ALONG LITTLE DOGIES.” Pulse-stirring . and charming, “Git Along Little Dogies,” Gene Autry's latest action-filled musical western, is a delightfully exciting attraction. The film will be shown tonight at the Cosy Theatre. Seething with thrills, and abundant with excellent songs, “Git Along Little Dogies” is swell entertainment, and is a noteworthy addition to Republic Studio’s Gene Autry releases. The story deals with intrigue and action laid against the digging of an oil well in cattle country. Autry’s valiant attempts to protect the ranchers, his humorous and exceedingly pleasant romantic difficulties with lovely Judith Allen, splendid comedy by Smiley Burnette, Willie Fung, top-notch Chinese comedian, and the well-known radio songsters, the Maple City Four, combine to result in entertainment well worth anyone’s time and money. The musical interludes are swell. Gene Autry is excellent as a singing cowboy, and renditions by Smiley Burnette and the Maple City Four are equally pleasing. The Dead Ends Kids and Little Tough- Guys are teamed in featured roles in Universal’s “You’re Not So Tough,” the associate feature. All are seen as itinerant crop-followers working on California fruit and vegetable ranches. Nan Grey has the featured feminine lead with the group of hardboiled youngsters.
