OPERA HOUSE
HAWAIIANS TONIGHT. A programme entirely apart from those usually presented on the stage will be given by the “Hawaii Sings” company at the Opera House tonight and also tomorrow evening. Characteristic numbers of Hawaii by talented performers of that island, constitute a novel offering and complete a most pleasing attraction. In native dances, songs and selections on the electric steel guitar, the members of the company succeed in presenting an entertainment which has met with much approval throughout the tour. The programme is admirably varied and includes several items of a highly diverting character, including burlesques and comedy sketches. Leading in charm and artistic ability is Momi Kaaimoku, a brilliant hula dancer and gifted singer. Amongst the supporting artists are Aliiloa Lincoln, Dan Kaeka, and Johnson Aila, a versatile trio whose ability to entertain is only equalled by the enthusiasm of their efforts. The company carried its own scenic and lighting effects, and these are said to be striking. The plan is at the shop of Messrs Steele and Bull. Tonight’s performance commences at 8.15 p.m. to suit convenience of shoppers.
