FRIDAY NEXT: A comedy riot that the management state will take the town by storm—“SAPS AT SEA,” with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Those old salts, Commodore Stan and Admiral Babe, go off on a rollicking ocean voyage tied firmly to the dock. Then their moorings bust loose and the fun begins in the most hilarious film of their uproarious careers. The management of the State Theatre draws special attention,to an important short subject that’ will screen on this programme. It is the film entitled "LONDON CAN TAKE IT,” and has been airmailed to New Zealand by special arrangement with Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom. Depicting London as nightfall, the arrival of German bombers whose heavy drone fills the I * air—then the vivid display of gunfire as the anti-aircraft guns burst into action—its keynote lies in the steady morale of the civilian army under a heavy bombardment. Tne commentary is by Qucntein Reynolds, the war correspondent of “Colliers Weekly” and he concludes. “Bombs cannot kill an unconquerable spirit.” A further special presentation will be the latest March of Time, “America v.
