PERSONAL ITEMS

Mr and Mrs J. P. Thompson, Napier, are visiting Masterton, and are guests at. the Hotel Midland. Mrs E. Tooby, of Essex Street, Masterton, is a visitor to Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs 11. Sinclair are Wellington visitors to Masterton, and are staying at the Hotel Midland. Miss Nan Batchelor, of the Masterton Telephone Exchange, has received notice of her transfer to Wanganui. During her stay in Masterton, Miss Batchelor, who was transferred from Nelson to the local exchange some •eighteen months ago, proved a most efficient and courteous official. She will take up her new position on Monday.

Among the guests present at the farewell tendered Sister Hodges in the Masterton Soldiers’ Club (which was reported in yesterday’s “Times-Age”) were Mr and Mrs J. Ninnes, Mr and Mrs R. Whyborn, Mr and Mrs S. Fletcher, Mr and Mrs H. G. Alexander, Mr and Mrs W. James, Mr and Mrs R. Miller, Mr and Mrs A. E. Prentice, Mr and Mrs F. Price, Mr and Mrs Miller Hope, Mr and Mrs A. Keir, Mr and Mrs L. Si Nicol, Mr and Mrs F. Cunningham; Mesdames Reynolds, McKay and Page; Misses Wiggins, M. F. Barnett. H. Gillespie/ N. Gillespie, N. Sellar. A. Sellar, M. Cane (Kopuaranga), Kerins, Ninnes, N. Cocker, L. Cocker, Thurston, Sister Hodges and Mr H. M. Boddington. Items were given by Mrs R. Miller. Mr F. Price and Mr and Mrs Miller Hope.
