BUILDING SOCIETY

WORKMEN’S FRIEND, No. 2. MEETING OF DIRECTORS. The monthly meeting of the directors of the Workmen’s Friend, No. 2 Building Society, was held last night, Mr. T. B. Braggins, vice-chairman, presiding in the absence of the chairman, Mr. Wm. Kemp. There were also present Messrs. C. W. Walker, E. J. Brown, - A. E. Hubbard, S. M. Gilding. H. L. Price, A. V. Dixon, and E. H. Morton. An apology for absence was received from Mr. Kemp. The secretary reported that on the instructions of the chairman the appropriation drawn by Mr. Neish had been invested as desired by Mr. Neish. A ballot was held for the appropriation of £4OO. Messrs C. W. Walker, A. V. Dixon and A. E. Hubbard were appointed scrutineers, the winning number represented share held by Messrs. Jenkins Bros., who were declared entitled to the appropriation. The vice-chairman expressed the season’s greeting to all the directors and to the secretary, which were heartily reciprocated by all present. The secretary was requested to convey to Mr. Kemp their regrets that he was indisposed and their best wishes for his speedy recovery to robust health, and also to extend to him the season’s greetings for Christmas and the New Year. It was decided that the next meeting be held on February 5.
