Miss Hull, Lower Hutt, spent the weekend in Masterton. Miss J. McLaren, Renall Street, Masterton, is visiting Wellington. Mrs Venables, Matamata, is staying with her sister, Mrs B. Kingdom Waingawa. Miss Butement, Essex Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Palmerston North. Mrs Ewart, Cambridge Terrace, Masterton, will leave this week on a visit to Hokitika. Mr and Mrs E. P. Cameron, “Pahona,” are staying at Paraparaumu Beach. Mr and Mrs G. F. McHardy, who have been staying with Mrs D. B. Cameron, Hinakura, have returned to Hawke’s Bay. The death has occurred in Gisborne of Mrs Mary Helena Byford, at the age of 49 years. Mrs Byford had been •a resident of Napier for practically the whole of her life. She leaves her husband, Mr James Byford, and three children (Mrs A. Roberts, Napier; Miss Dulcie, Gisborne, and Mr James Byford, who is serving with the Third Echelon).
