Brown, Masterton, weather recorder, supplies the following summary for November (figures for November last year given in parentheses): —Pressure at 9 a.m. standard time, highest, 30.48 inches on 28th (30.41); lowest. 29.37 on Bth (29.9). Temperatures: Absolute shade maximum, 78 degrees on 13th (77.9); absolute shade minimum, 33.4 degrees on 10th (29.5). Thus the range was 44.6 (48.4). Mean temperature for the month, 56.1 (57.1). Absolute grass minimum, 24.8 on Ist (21.3); average grass minimum. 36.7 (37.6); average at’ one foot underground. 58 (58.2). Sever-1 est frost, 5.6 on night of 31st October! (9.1). Days of frost (grass minimum) 30.4 degrees Fahr, or lower), 6 (10);, of shade temperature below 32 degrees Fahr., 0 (2); of gale. 6 (5). Total rainfall, 5:37 inches on 16 days (1.03); greatest fall, 136 points on 17th (27). Total sunshine, 205.8 hours (183.3); daily average, 6.9; sunniest day. 29th, 14.4 hours (13.8); wind run, 2848 miles (2307); average, 94.9.
