OPERA HOUSE
HAWAIIAN ATTRACTION. Although the public today rely to a great extent on mechanised entertainment, yet a real flesh and blood attraction is always acceptable, providing it is of an acceptable standard of merit and competency. Such an attraction is to be presented at the Opera House next Friday and Saturday evenings, when the “Hawaii Sings” company will occupy the stage. The members of the troupe are well recommended by the press of Auckland and provincial towns and cities already visited on the present tour. In a programme of numbers characteristic of their native Honolulu, the various artists have no difficulty in providing two hours of pleasant relaxation. Momi Kaaimoku, Ihe star, is a very talented young lady, being not only a most artistic exponent of the modern hula and other native dances, but also a charming singer. Miss Kaaimoku is not without screen experience, for she appeared with much success as the leading hula girl in “Waikiki Wedding.” Supporting members include Aliiloa Lincoln and his Alohalani Hawaiians, a versatile combination. The plan is at the shop ‘of Messrs Steele and Bull’s.
