BALLOTTED MEN
MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS AND APPEALS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The general medical examination of men called up in the ballot will not be commenced until early in the New Year. Men who have already been examined in accordance with the Expeditionary Force standard and passed as fit will not be re-examined. The medical papers of men who .enlisted under the voluntary system, but who were not passed as fit, will be reconsidered by a special medical board, which will decide whether or not these men are to be re-examined. Men called in the overseas ballot are asked again to bear in mind that if they desire to appeal against being called up, a further appeal is necessary in every case. The fact that an appeal against Territorial service has been allowed does not affect the obligation for a fresh appeal against overseas service. The National Service Department has a general policy about ministers of religion and theological students, but at the moment it is not for publication.
