BASS STRAIT MINES
NINETEEN SWEPT UP WORK BEING CONTINUED. STATEMENT BY MR HUGHES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.25 p.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. Nineteen mines have been swept up in Bass Strait since two ships were sunk there about three weeks ago. This was announced by the Minister for the Navy (Mr Hughes), who added that the mine-sweeping was being continued.
