WAR PENSIONS
SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS TO BENEFIT. 4 A. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) , - WELLINGTON, This Day. The granting of pensions to South African War veterans whose death or disablement 'can be attributed wholly or in part to services with the New Zealand forces in that war is provided for in a clause in the Finance Bill (No. 4), which was introduced and read a first time in the House of Representatives last night. Pensions are in accordance with the scale prescribed in the War Pensions Extension Act, 1940. Children of veterans in receipt of allowances under the War Veterans Allowances Act, 1935, are to be eligible for war bursaries and allowances under the War Legislation Act, 1917. This will also apply to the children of persons entitled to pensions in respect of service in the present war.
