BY FRENCH CHIEF OF STATE. FORESHADOWED IN VICHY COMMUNIQUE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received Tills Day, 11.55 a.m.) VICHY. December 2. A communique states that Cabinet dealt with various questions relating to the forthcoming transfer of the Chief of State to Versailles.
seven in, during the day, travelling from one line to the other after each drive and so covering practically all the ground. They have about twenty beaters and flankers and each shooter has a loader to load his second gun. the flankers being the experts as their job is to lie clown on each flank of the drive and stand up just at the right instant to turn the birds the right way over the guns. The two guns I had while I was up there were beautiful weapons, made by Boss & Co., single trigger, and costing round about £2OO in this country. I have never handled anything like them before. “Later on I did a smaller drive further south in Scotland with some other people, five guns only, and got 24 brace which was nearly half the bag for the day so I was quite pleased. Normally. Lord Dalhousie lets his forests for the season. “Invermark,” the best, averaging a return of £12.000 for the six weeks shooting which, of course, with the other expenses, makes it terribly expensive. One year an, American paid £5OOO for one week’s shooting on “Invermark” which, of course, is colossal. My only expense was a few shotgun cartridges, and a small fee fin’ the stalker and loader, so that I was extremely fortunate."
