Targets in Scandinavia and Occupied France SOUTHAMPTON AGAIN BOMBED HEAVILY ON MONDAY NIGHT CHURCHES AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS HIT Acting on the principle that attack is the best form of defence, the Royal Air Force on Monday night raided the submarine building yards at Wilhelmshaven, a 8.8. C. broadcast reports. The British bombers were over their target for several hours and caused a number of fires and explosions. In the morning Coastal Command aircraft bombed some of the submarines already built, at Lorient. Raids were made also on a number of other objectives, some of them in Norway and in Denmark. All the aircraft returned safely. The Air Ministry and Ministry of Home Security report that there was only slight enemy air activity over Britain yesterday. A number of enemy fighter's-and fighter-bombers were driven back while still over Kent. Two enemy planes were shot down, and there were no British losses. Southampton was again bombed on Monday night. Churches and commercial buildings were hit. Fire fighters and members of the air raid precaution services again carried out their work magnificently.
