CLAIMED BY CHINESE JAPANESE OFFENSIVE SMASHED. UPWARDS OF 12,000 INVADERS KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) CHUNGKING, December 2. It is officially announced that the Chinese smashed the Japanese mul-tiple-pronged offensive along the 150mile front in Fishang, North Hupeh, Tangying and north-east Ichang at the weekend. They killed more than 12,658 Japanese in a score of scattered, sanguinary battles. FINANCIAL AID ( AMERICAN PROPOSALS. (Received Ths Day, 9.40 a.m.) WASHINGTON, December 2. The joint Senate and House Committee on Monetary Affairs has unanimously approved proposals to extend financial aid to China and to help to stabilise the Chinese currency.
