PLOT IN MEXICO
ALLEGED BY POLICE COMMUNIST HEADQUARTERS CASUALTIES IN FIERCE GUN BATTLE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MEXICO CITY. November 30. Claiming that they had uncovered a plot to assassinate the President-elect Senor Avila Camacho, Federal soldiers raided the Communist headquarters under the blocks of. the former National Palace, while almost simultaneously the police in another section of the capital engaged in a fierce gun battle while attempting to search a house where it was suspected that a second subversive group was meeting. It is reported that two people were killed and two wounded in the latter incident, and an army major was killed and al least two wounded in the former incident. The police claim that the plotters planned to assassinate Senor Camacho and start an insurrection during his inauguration tomorrow in the presence of the United States Vice-President-elect, Mr. Henry Wallace.
