CALF CLUB
RESULTS OF JUDGING. COMPETITION AT DALEFIELD. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual competition between children attending the Dalefield School in connection with the Calf Club was held at the school grounds yesterday in the presence of a large attendance of parents and visitors. There was excellent competition throughout and the judge of both calves and lambs. Mr W. C. Deller, complimented the children upon the very fine entries they had brought forward and the excellent class of stock shown. At the conclusion of the judging Mr Martin J. Parker, chairman of the School Committee, thanked Mr Deller for coming to Dalefield to judge the different classes.
A hearty vote of thanks, carried by acclamation, was passed to Mr and Mrs Parker for their generosity in providing the prize ribbons. At the conclusion of the judging the senior pupils of the school, under the supervision of their teachers. Miss Dorgan and Miss McDonald, provided and served afternoon tea. for which they were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The following prizes were awarded: — Lambs: Annette Fairbrother. 1: Colleen Rogers. 2; Warren Rogers, 3. Calves: — Grade class for juniorstype: Graham Press, I; Margare* Hughes. 2; Joy Ticehurst. 3. Condition and handling: Margaret Hughes 1; Warren Hooper. 2; Fay Hooper. 3 Pedigrees (junior pupil): Noreen Hicks. 1. Seniors: —Grade class judged for type: Noreen Conwell. 1: Coleen Rogers. 2; Warren Rogers. 3. Condition and handling: Coleen Rogers. I: Noreen Conwell. 2; Joan Ticehurst, 3. Pedigree class, type: Annette Fairbrother. 1: Lola Parker, 2. Condition and handling: Lola Parker, 1; Annette Fairbrother. 2.
