' Air Marshal Sir Cyril Ncwall, Governor designate of New Zealand, in a speech said it was not without a pang that he was leaving his native land in an hour of danger. He was absolutely confident that we had turned a very ugly corner and that with the forces and the output of factories progressively increasing and further contributions from the Dominions, the Empire was on the way to victory.
