YEAR’S WORK

WAIRARAPA COLLEGE OPEN TO PUBLIC. GOOD ATTENDANCE LAST NIGHT. Parents, and the public generally, arc given, once a year, the opportunity to see for themselves what has been done during the previous three terms at Wairarapa College, and, last night, the display of work attracted a good attendance. “Our aim tonight, is to give you a cross-section of the school's life,” said the acting-principal, Mr G. W. Morice, speaking between items during a shortprogramme presented in the Assembly Hall. "None of these items is prepared —they represent merely the work of the pupils, from day to clay." Mr- Morice said. The Assembly Hall was well filled by an attentive audience. The following was the programme:—Selection by the Pipe Band; part songs. “Bird Songs at Eventide," “We'll Remember,” ."Land of Hope and Glory;" drill, health and beauty exercise, Forms V upper, VA. VB; dumbell exercise. Form IV commercial; agility exercise. Form V commercial; dance of the vagabonds. Forms IVA and 1VB: ball drill, VI Form; tumbling. Agricultural Forms; playette, “King Alfred and the Cakes," Form 3b professional; fifteen minutes in the dressmaking room. From 7 p.m. until the demonstration was presented, the classrooms wore open for inspection, and by a casual look around, it was possible to get an excellent idea of the diversity of the school's activities.
