GOLF YEAR

MASTERTON’S CLUB ANNUAL REPORT MANY TREES PLANTED. THIRTEENTH GREEN REMODELLED. The annual report of the Masterton Golf Club, to be presented to the annual meeting tomorrow night, states: “Finance. —We have again finished the year with a small surplus in our revenue account, and considering the difficult times through which we are passing the position is quite satisfactory. Membership fees are less by over £lOO, and this reduction is almost entirely due to members enlisting for war service. During the year our overdraft limit was cancelled and it is fitting that we place on record our thanks to those members who entered into a personal guarantee to enable the club to obtain the necessary finance to carry out the building of the club house.

“Course. —Ordinary maintenance work only has been carried out. The remodelling of the 13th green is under way, and it. is anticipated that this work will be completed early in the new season. During the season some hundreds of trees were planted, and our thanks are due to those members who so kindly donated the trees.
