WATERSIDER KILLED

DRAGGED UNDER MOVING TRUCKS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 20. Fatal injuries were received by a waterside worker on the King’s Wharf when he was caught under a line of moving trucks and dragged for 25 yards. The victim was: —Francis Gray, married, aged 57, Newton. Mr. Gray was standing at the edge of the wharf near a crane when the accident happened. As the train began to move off the wharf it struck a heavy loading basket, knocking it against him, and he fell under a truck. The train was made up of about 30 12-ton wagons and some seconds elapsed before the engine-driver was aware of the accident. An ambulance was sent for, but Mr. Gray was dead when it arrived.
