BRITISH LEAVE SHANGHAI.—The first of the East Surrey tank and motor truck lines beginning to leave Shanghai on August 20. as British forces, which had been in Shanghai since 1927. withdrew from the city. The troops passed through Japanese-held Honkew on the way to the piers where they boarded ship.
