Miss Robinson, aged 77. fell ill during the evening, and shortly after midnight a doctor was sent for. out Miss Robinson quickly succumbed. A few hours later her sister. Mrs McGonagle, died, death evidently being caused by shock. Thev had lived together for a considerable time and had enjoyed splendid health. They had visited Wellington that day to see old friends. Miss Robinson, who was born ir Melbourne, had lived for a great number of years in Otaki and had made many friends. Mrs McGonagle w aB well known throughout the district and had lived with her sister for snip, time, after a long residence in Wanganui. She was born in Christchurch 59 years ago. married in Otaki. and then took up residence in Wanganui remaining there till she came to Otaki. Her husband predeceased her some time ago, but she is survived by a son There are also two sisters. Nurse Robinson and Mrs H. Ryder, both of Lower Hutt. The funeral of Miss Robinson took place in Otaki, and among those at the graveside were a number of relatives the mayor and councillors, and representatives of the Horowhenua County Council and other local bodies. The funeral of Mrs McGonagle took place :'n Wanganui.
