The final dance this year under the auspices of the Cadet Division of the St. John Ambulance was held in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, on Saturday night, when a record gathering spent a most enjoyable evening. The floor was in excellent order and the music was supplied by Jack Barnes and his Rhythm Boys. Extras were played by Private R. Hendry. The duties, of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr C. S. McQuade (Cadet Superintendent). Miss H. Benge and Mr P. Hannah won a Monte Carlo waltz competition and Miss N. Cooper and Aircraftsman B. R. Bowater won a lucky spot competition. During the evening Mr McQuade thanked all who had helped to make the dances held in the past such great successes, in particular the ladies' committee and Mr Jack Barnes's Orchestra. He also announced that the dances would be resumed early in January under the supervision of the same committee. but the proceeds would be allocated to the senior men's ambulance division.
