I.R.A. OFFENDERS
SENTENCES IN BELFAST. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, November 23. A Belfast judge sentenced 24 young members of the Irish Republican Army to a total of 177 years’ imprisonment. The heaviest sentence was on Thomas Byrne, aged 20 years, who received 12 years for being in possession of a revolver. Byrne was wounded when attempting to escape after wounding a policeman. Nineteen others received seven years each, and four others eight years on charges of treason.
