MAN WHO CARRIED BOMB WITHOUT AUTHORITY. LONDON, November 23. Mr Leighton Morris, who was fined recently for unauthorisedly handling an unexploded bomb, was today feted and received a cheque from his neighbours to pay his fine and also a good bit over. Morris was originally fined £lOO, in default three months’ imprisonment, for carrying a bomb downstairs from a house into which it had dropped and also a .street. He said he was taking it to open ground. On the way the bomb slipped from his arms and dropped on his foot. The case was reviewed and the penalty reduced to £5.
