Stent, vice-president of the Wairarapa Bowling Centre, visited the Park green and referred to the Union Jack flown by the Park Club. This flag, he said, was a very famous one with a notable history. During the 1914-18 Great War the flag, by its repeated sale, brought in many thousands of pounds to the coffers of the local Patriotic Society. It finally became the property of the late Mr Charles Blewitt, who presented it to the Park Club. The club has offered to lend the flag to the Wairarapa Bowling Centre to be spread out on the green at the Wairarapa tournament on Monday for the contributions from the various clubs to be officially placed on it. Mr Stent expressed his appreciation of this offer, and said that he felt sure that the tournament committee would gratefully accept it.
