The newly-prepared tees were opened, and with top-dres-sing they should be in good order for next season. Drainage at the club house was completed. Painting of the groundman’s cottage was also carried out in terms of our lease. "Membership.—The waiving of an entrance fee resulted in acquiring quite an increase in membership, but there are still vacancies, and members are urged to induce others to take up the game.

Enjoyable in-ter-club games were played with Riverside and Masterton, and appreciation of hospitality extended to members is hereby acknowledged. Owing to petrol restrictions and the position arising through the war, travelling for interclub games had to be curtailed. This is to be regretted but your committee feels sure that despite this fact members have enjoyed their season’s golf and that the happy associations formed with other clubs will early be renewed. Appreciation- is extended to the members of the various sub-commit-tees for their willing service at all times. Any of last season’s non-playing members who desire next season to become full playing members, are requested to notify the secretary by February of next year. Also, any members intending to resign are requested to do so. in writing, before the opening day, failing which they will be liable for a full season's subscription. We wish herein to express appreciation to the club’s auditor (Mr D. B. Curry) for his honorary services; also to the Press for its assistance and courtesies at all times. In conclusion, we wish to thank all members for the interest shown in the welfare of the club and in the various competitions arranged.” The report is presented for the committee by Mr J. G. McFarlane, hon. secretary, and Mr I. I. McGregor, captain.
