WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

TINUI MEETING. COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A general meeting of the Tinui Women's Institute was held in the local hall, when Mrs Speedy presided. The meeting opened with the singing of “Comrades and Friends,” the Aspirations, and the Prayer for Peace. It was decided on the motion of Mrs. Street seconded by Mrs. Johnston that the Institute contribute its usual donation to the Makogai Leper Fund. The roll call was a “child’s funny saying,” which was answered by all. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. Mrs. Dobbs and Mrs. Findley. The competitions resulted as follow: —Best bloom —Miss O. Owen 1; Mrs. O’Hara 2; Mrs. Street 3. Madeira Cake —Mrs. Street 1; Miss O. Owen 2; Mrs. Speedy 3. Dress —Mrs. Street 1 and 2.
