AIR FORCE ANONYMITY
RECONSIDERATION SUGGESTED. Taking a leaf from the enemy’s book, the time appears to have arrived for reconsidering the decision to hide under a bushel the gallant work performed by' individual squadrons and memI bers of the Royal Air Force, writes a j correspondent to "The Times.” In the last war the fame of the Richthofen | Red Devils Squadron was built up until it became legendary, and whenever it was in action its very reputation did much to add to its effect. Nowadays the Germans are also beginning to weave stories about specified individual squadrons, doubtless with the same idea in view. We know how in the Great War the very name of our valiant "ladies from Hell” (as kilted Scots were known) instilled fear into the German hearts. Given similar names and reputations in this war, the daredevil gallantry of selected individuals and units of the Royal Air ■ Force would produce a similar effect!
