YOUR UNDIES
GIVE THEM A STITCH IN TIME. More than almost anywhere else in your wardrobe you must learn to give your undies a stitch in time. A safetypin hastily pinned to hold a broken shoulder strap or a lost button tears the delicate fabric of your undies. So equip yourself with a box of satin baby ribbons, ready cut for shoulder straps, and when you buy your panties make a point, of getting half a dozen pearl buttons to match them. Sew those tiny strips in the shoulders of the frocks to hold the undie straps so that they don’t slip down and get. wrenched. Remember that perspiration rots fabric, real silk as much as rayon, and wash your undies every two days at least with a reliable brand of soap flakes or washing powder. If they grow faded in time you can always re-dip them vzith specially delicate lingerie dyes. Learn to put on your foundation garment correctly; they’ll tell you how in the shop where you bought it. Always catch hold of these delicate fabrics with the pads of your fingers, not the nails?. Remember that they thrive on constant and careful washing, so it’s really an economy to have two.
