SERGEANT PILOT PROUT

MISSING MASTERTONIAN. BOMBING OVER ITALY. Sergeant-Pilot R. W. Prout. R.N.Z.A.F.. of Masterton, who is reported missing from air operations, left New Zealand last June for England after receiving training in New Zealand. His father. Mr T. W. Prout. Masterton, has received telegrams of sympathy from the Prime Minister. Mr P. Fraser, and the Minister of Defence Mr F. Jones. Sergeant Prout, who was 21 years of age. was awarded some months ago the London Cablemakers medal for the most points gained in the Dominion for an electrical examination. In a recent letter to his father .he stated that he was taking part in the bombing raids over Italy.
