Mrs J. L. Murray, of Masterton. has returned from a visit to New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. R. Tankersley, Upper Plain, were visitors to New Plymouth during the weekend. The death has occurred of Mrs. May Elizabeth Keith, widow of Mr. William Keith, a well-known Hastings fire-fighter, who died about six weeks ago. Mrs. Keith was well-known for her interest in the social side of the Hastings Fire Brigade and organisations connected with women’s interests. Born in Staffordshire. Mrs. Keith had lived in Hastings for more than 50 years. She was a P.M. of. the Ladies’ Orange Lodge, formerly secretary of the Women’s National Reserve, and a prominent member of the Red Cross Society.
