A radio message stated that a second short earth tremor was felt, in Bucharest this morning causing frosh damage to buildings and houses.
EXPLOSION IN RUINS ENFORCED HALT IN RESCUE . WORK. (Received This Dav, 11.25 a.m.) BUCHAREST. November 11. After the recovery of sixty bodies from the ruins of the eleven-storey Carlton flats building, an explosion of crude oil stored in the basement for central healing caused a suspension of rescue work. BRITISH LEGATION ALL MEMBERS OF STAFF . SAFE. k (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10.20 a.m.) RUGBY. November 11. The British Legation at Bucharest escaped with only minor damage from the earthquake. All members of the staff are safe. OIL REFINERIES SERIOUS DAMAGE REPORTED. LONDON. November 11. Latest reports from Rumania indicate that certain oil refiineries were seriously damaged. TREMORS IN RUSSIA (Received This Day. 11.25 a.m.) MOSCOW.' November 11. The strongest earthquake ever recorded in Moscow awoke many sleepers and cracked walls. No serious damage- and no casualties are reported. Tremors were felt in South Russia, particularly at Odessa.
Further earthquake shocks have occurred in Rumania, the 8.8. C. reports. The loss of life and havoc is said to bo more widespread than was at first supossod. but it is still not possible to form accurate estimates. Casualty reports are reaching Bucharest from village after village as communications are gradually being restored. The earthquake was felt far beyond the borders of Rumania, amongst other places in .Moscow, though, much less severely (here than in South Russian cities.
