SUCCESSFUL ATTACK FROM ARK ROYAL TWO ENEMY AIRCRAFT DESTROYED. ALL BRITISH PLANES SAFE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) RUGBY, November 11. The Admiralty announced that Fleet Air Arm aircraft of the Ark Royal carried out a bombing attack on the harbour and aerodrome of Cagliari, in Sardinia. Many bembs were dropped in the target area and explosions and fires were observed. The Ark Royal was attacked by enemy bombers, but no hits were made and she suffered no damage and no casualties. During the operations, two shadowing enemy aircraft were destroyed by our fighters, and it is also reported that others’ probably were damaged. All our aircraft returned safely.
