GIRL FILM STAR
JUDY GARLAND'S ROMANCE. Not since Deanna Durbin’s name first became linked with that of Vaughan Paul has the industry been so worried about a romance as it :s over the friendship of Judy Garland and Dave Rose, says a writer in an American magazine. Rose was married to Martha Raye, from whom he is not yet divorced. Judy is now 18, which in the ordinary way is not regarded as young for marriage in the film colony. Lana Turner was very little older when she married Artie Shaw and almost as suddenly divorced him. What is worrying M.G.M., which markets Judy’s talents, is that so far she has failed to deny Rose's oft-re-pealed declaration that they are engaged.
“Aren’t ,vou the thought-reader who was entertaining the company a couple of hours ago by finding needles and ether small objects they had hidden?” “Yes.” “Well, what has kept you here so long?” "I'm looking for my hat!”
