Province evacuated by the Japanese report spirited fighting around Yamchow, near Kwangtung on the sea coast, where Japanese troops are embarking in a transport. It is claimed that a Chinese detachment has entered Yamchow City, engaging the Japanese in street fighting. Meanwhile a strong Chinese column has reached a point southward of Yamchow and ; s threatening the rear of the Japanese now holding out at Yamchow. Chinese forces reoccupied Chengnankwan. on the French Indo-China border. The Japanese are rushing reinforcements to the border and heavy .fighting is progressing.
