British air activity beyond Britain is indicated by the news of the surrender of an Italian float-plane to Skuas of the Fleet Air Arm in the Mediterranean. The leading Skua fired a few short bursts at extreme range, hoping for a show-down with the Italian, and the buffets struck home. The Italian dived and alighted on the sea. The pilot waved a white cloth signifying surrender.
