The Hon W. Nash. Minister of Finance. is expected to return to Wellington today from Auckland. The Hon R. Semple, Minister of National Service, returned to Wellington today from the north. He will leave again tonight for the South Island. The Hon D. G. McMillan. Minister of Scientific and Industrial Research, left Wellington last night for the south.

The lion F. Jones, Minister of Defence. is visiting the South Island. He expects to return to Wellington on Tuesday.

The Hon 11. G. R. Mason. Minister of Education, left Wellington lasjt night on a visit to North Auckland, where he will inspect Native schools and examine proposed arrangements for the provision of post-primary education for Maoris in the Kaikoho district. The Minister expects to return to Wellington on November 16. A well-known Hawke's Bay resident. Mr William James White. died at Napier yesterday. He was born in Waipawa 76 years ago. He was a well-known stock man and managed various farms for the late Mr G. P. Donnelly. For a number of years he was buyer for the North British Freezing Company at Port Ahuriri. His father. Mr J. White, who was a marine engineer, started the first boiling-down works in Hawke's Bay when he established a plant at Waitangi. near Clive. He was one of the oldest members of Loyal Meanee Lodge.
