It is noteworthy that all three winners of Guineas’ contests this season. Beau Leon, Sir Cameron and Sir Beau, are closely descended from English mares. Sir Cameron’s dam is imported Mirabelle 11., dam of the dual Derby winner, Theo. Beau, Leon's dam is the imported mare Lady Bede, dam of the < brilliant Galilee, and Sir Beau’s I grandam is also an imported mare as is also the dam of the Harcourt Cup winner, Royal Chief.
To Ride at Napier Park. S. Anderson will be riding at the Napier Park meeting and he has been engaged I'or River Tide and Tide. Bred in New Zealand. Fearless Fox, winner of the Queensland Derby on Saturday, was bought at the 1939 Trentham Sales for 600 guineas. He is a well-bred colt by Foxbridge out of that good mare Eager Rose, winner of the Takapuna Cup and four open races on the Ellerslie course. Tidal Wave, third in this week’s Melbourne Cup, is a chestnut colt by Tiderace from My Own, by Lord Quex from Tressida.
