WALL IVIES

SHOULD BE WELL CUT BACK. Wall ivies should be well cut back to secure a mass of bright green leaves during summer instead of the dirty, aged foliage. Start at the top and work clown to the bottom, cutting the leaves back to the wall with a pair of sharp shears. At the same time cut back straggling pieces which are encroaching on windows and doors. This treatment may seem d'castic, but the bare appearance will not last long and the wall ‘will soon be covered again with new growth.
