YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB
4 ESSAY COMPETITION. RESULTS ANNOUNCED. Mr N. Lamont, of the local Agricultural Department, stated to a “Times-Age" representative this morning that the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club essay competition attracted a large number of entries. The subject, a rather difficult one dealing with the different types of Wairarapa soils, was very well handled by the entrants. The prizes of £2, £1 and 10s were donated by Sir William Perry. The results were: —
A. Cruickshank (Masterton) .... 1 M. Knutson (Carterton) 2 D. McGregor (Masterton) 3 A. Heckler (Alfredton) 4
